Nestled in the heart of the historic Victorian spa village of Strathpeffer, the Pavilion stands as one of Scotland’s most distinctive and cherished heritage venues.

Originally commissioned in 1881 by the 1st Countess of Cromartie, the Pavilion was designed as a cultural centrepiece for visitors seeking rest, relaxation, and entertainment. Over the years, it welcomed royalty, dignitaries, and guests from across the world, quickly becoming a hub of social life in the Highlands.

Its story spans generations—from serving as a hospital for US Navy sailors during the First World War, to supporting the war effort again during World War II. In the decades that followed, the Pavilion found new life as a vibrant music and events venue, hosting legendary performers including the Bay City Rollers, The Fortunes, Nashville Teens, and Brian Poole & The Tremeloes.

After a period of decline in the late 20th century, the building was lovingly restored in 2004. Today, it is proudly cared for by the Strathpeffer Pavilion Community Trust, who continue to preserve its rich heritage while bringing it to life for modern audiences.

Now, the Pavilion once again thrives as a unique venue for live music, theatre, community events—and even the occasional venture into the unexplained.
